When you make your contribution to the POWER Account each month, your health services will be paid for by the plan. It’s that simple! By making a contribution to your POWER Account each month, you will be able to get the services you really need and take better care of yourself.

Check your POWER Account feature is temporarily unavailable.

The POWER Account will help pay for basic health services like regular doctor visits and other medical services you may need. Your POWER Account will allow you to control the money used for your health care. There are a number of ways to make contributions to your POWER Account. For instance:

  1. Check or Money Order: Make your check or money order payable to
    MDwise with AmeriChoice and mail your payment to:

  2. Payroll Deduction: You can ask your employer to deduct your contribution from your paycheck. Do this by filling out the Payroll Deduction Form. You can call Customer Service at 1-877-822-7196 to get the form. TTY Users should call 1-800-743-3333.
  3. Employer Contribution: Ask at work if your employer is willing to pay for part of your contribution. If so, your employer has to fill out the Employer Contribution Form. You can call Customer Service to get the form. Only a part of your contribution can be made by your employer. You will get a bill each month for the rest.

By completing all preventive services before the end of the year, all the money left over in the POWER Account will rollover to the next year for your health services. If you did not complete the preventive care services by the end of the year, only a portion of your contribution you put in will stay until next year. The money the State contributed for you will go back to the State.

It is important to make monthly contributions to your POWER Account. If you fail to make your POWER Account contribution within 60 days you will:

  1. Lose the coverage you are counting on from your HIP plan.

  2. Lose the chance see your doctor.

  3. Be removed from the HIP plan and having a portion of your contribution returned to you.

  4. Wait 12 months to reapply for the HIP plan.
