Clarification of Services Provided to Members by Chiropractors and Optometrists in the Healthy Indiana Plan.
Chiropractic services and vision (refraction) services are not covered benefits under the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP). However, Chiropractors and Optometrists may perform covered services for HIP members, as long as those covered services are within their scope of practice.
Provider Enrollment
MDwise provides a full scope of health coverage to low income, uninsured Hoosiers. MDwise invites providers of all specialties to join our statewide Healthy Indiana Plan.
The Healthy Indiana Plan is designed by the State of Indiana to offer a basic health insurance benefit plan, subject to individual contributions, and paired with a personal health account referred to as a POWER Account to Hoosiers without access to employer sponsored health insurance.
Providers who wish to participate as a HIP provider must contact the MDwise delivery system in your region and complete the MDwise forms.

Open Network for Specialist Services Only
Until further communication, MDwise will operate as an open network for Specialist Services Only.
Please contact the appropriate HIP delivery system medical management department (see quick contact sheet ) for a list of services that require prior authorization.
* Specialist must have an active Indiana Health Coverage Provider Number.
