INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Hoosiers with health coverage through Hoosier Healthwise – that’s 629,749 children and pregnant women with low income – must take action every year to confirm they are still eligible.
Hoosier Healthwise is an Indiana Health Coverage Program that serves Hoosier children under the age of 19 and pregnant women. The State determines eligibility by household size and income, and eligibility must be confirmed annually to ensure ongoing coverage.
“In past years we’ve seen approximately one third of our Hoosier Healthwise membership renew in the first quarter, so we want to make sure everyone is reading their mail from the State and MDwise and following the instructions,” said Hollie Arruda, director of marketing for MDwise. “We want 100 percent of members to renew so that no one loses their health coverage.”
Outreach representatives throughout Indiana are available to answer questions at events listed here: http://www.mdwise.org/events/events-calendar.
To determine whether their children are eligible for Hoosier Healthwise, parents can attend an outreach event in their area or contact the State at 1-800-403-0864.
To request that a MDwise outreach representative be present at a specific location, community event or faith community, please contact Nicki Gilbert at 317-822-7282.
