MDwise and the Raphael Health Center hosted a free health fair July 9-13 to help Indianapolis youth prepare for returning to school and beginning fall sports. Children and teens received free health screenings, immunizations, sports physicals and more – even free school uniform vouchers!
“It was great to see so many students and families getting ready for the new school year,” said MDwise’s Fernando Luna, who helped coordinate the event. “It’s so important for kids to get the right immunizations and screenings to ensure they’re able to return to school on time and participate in athletics with their peers.”
The event offered a variety of health screenings including lead, anemia, glucose, obesity, blood pressure, cholesterol, dental and vision. Necessary immunizations and sports physicals were provided along with echocardiograms and smoking cessation information. While supplies lasted, attendees were also able to receive free school uniform vouchers.
MDwise looks forward to having more back-to-school events to help Indiana youth prepare for the new academic year. Check our current list of events to find a health fair or other event coming near you.
