Clinic located in the St. Vincent Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center
INDIANAPOLIS – Today, St.Vincent opened the doors of its new OB/GYN clinic to the women of Indianapolis. Located in the St.Vincent Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center, the new clinic will allow the faith-based hospital to provide enhanced care to its patients. The clinic is located on the second floor of the Primary Care Center at 8414 Naab Road in Indianapolis.
The event promoted women’s health as well as early and ongoing prenatal care. It featured women’s health information on pre-pregnancy health care and the clinics Centering in Pregnancy program. In addition, pregnancy and blood pressure testing were offered and women had the chance to tour the clinic, register as a patient, and sign up for Hoosier Healthwise with MDwise.
“We want to thank MDwise for being a part of today’s event,” said Dr. Karla Loken, director of women’s health at the Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center. “In the fiscal year 2009, 90 percent of patients that came through our center were uninsured or underinsured, or were eligible for public programs such as Medicaid. We work with MDwise to offer our patients access to the Hoosier Healthwise plan.”
“At MDwise, we strongly believe that education is a critical component of health care. That’s why we welcome the opportunity to participate in events such as today’s open house,” said Dr. Caroline Carney Doebbeling, chief medical officer for MDwise. “It was great to see local women coming together and learning the basics of prenatal and pregnancy care.”
The St.Vincent Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center provides full-service care for the entire family on a sliding fee scale, based on need. Specialty care services include general surgery, dermatology, sports medicine, orthopedics and OB/GYN care.
