400 students in Evansville receive backpacks with school supplies from a donation by MDwise

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Students who attended the back-to school events at Glenwood Leadership Academy and Cedar Hall Community Schools received backpacks filled with school supplies from MDwise, Indiana’s only not-for-profit managed care entity serving those on the state’s Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan and Care Select health coverage programs. These school supplies are to help prepare students for the upcoming school year.

MDwise donated backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, erasers, and crayons to the schools as part of its “Tools for Schools” program, a statewide campaign that provided more than 10,000 supply-filled back packs to back-to-school related events across Indiana in 2012. Now in its fourth year, the program will continue to donate more than 10,000 supply-filled backpacks across Indiana in 2013.

Students who attended in Back-to-School events at the following locations in Evansville received the backpacks:

  • Glenwood Leadership Academy
  • Cedar Hall Community School

“At MDwise, we believe that all students can thrive if given the proper tool which is why we created the Tools for Schools program four years ago,” said Charlotte MacBeth, chief executive officer of MDwise. “We strive to make the learning experience as meaningful and constructive as possible by ensuring that students have the resources and health care that they need to learn.”

“MDwise Tools for Schools” is a division of Ms. Bluebelle’s Club for Kids, MDwise’s comprehensive program that promotes the health and well-being of Hoosier children through special activities and outreach.
