770 Eastern Indiana students receive backpacks filled with school supplies from MDwise to prepare for the upcoming school year

INDIANAPOLIS – Over the past few weeks, 770 students across Eastern Indiana received backpacks filled with school supplies from MDwise, Indiana’s only not-for-profit managed health care entity serving those on the state’s Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan and Care Select health coverage programs.
MDwise provides back packs filled with notebooks, pencils, erasers, and crayons to back-to-school events as part of its “Tools for School” program, a statewide campaign that donated more than 10,000 supply filled backpacks since 2009.
Students who attended in Back-to-School events at the following locations in Eastern Indiana received the backpacks:

  • Townsend Center – Richmond
  • Sutton Elementary Back-to-School Event – Muncie
  • Back-to-School Festival of Henry County – New Castle

“At MDwise, we believe that all students can thrive if given the proper tool which is why we created the Tools for Schools program four years ago,” said Charlotte MacBeth, chief executive officer of MDwise. “We strive to make the learning experience as meaningful and constructive as possible by ensuring that students have the resources and health care that they need to learn.”
“MDwise Tools for Schools” is a division of Ms. Bluebelle’s Club for Kids, MDwise’s comprehensive program that promotes the health and well-being of Hoosier children through special activities and outreach.
