INDIANAPOLIS – MDwise, Indiana’s only not-for-profit health insurance company focused on giving uninsured and underinsured Hoosiers the compassionate service and care they want and need, has launched a new website to address the changing needs of its members.
MDwise conducted website usability studies with its members and providers and used the findings to drive website redevelopment. MDwise also took into account the five elements provided by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) which include font size, reading level, intuitive content organization, ease of navigation, and directories in additional language, if applicable to the membership.
MDwise’s new site offers a number of benefits, including:
-
Responsive site design – member feedback indicated the majority view websites on their smart phones, and the responsive designs means the MDwise site is mobile-friendly.
-
Improved organization – the content members access most often, such as reviewing benefit information and finding doctors in their network, is easy to locate and navigate.
-
Subsidy calculator – consumers can determine whether they qualify for premium assistance for insurance purchased in the new Marketplace.
“We believe in providing our members with the quality care and service they need and deserve,” said Hollie Arruda, director of marketing for MDwise. “And this includes their website experience. Our new site reflects this belief as every change made was directly based on member feedback gathered in usability studies. We’re excited to share this new development with our current members and consumers who will be looking to purchase health insurance in the Marketplace. We look forward to continuing to make improvements to enhance their satisfaction.”
Based on standards set by the NCQA, MDwise was recognized for top quality health care and health outcomes, service and member satisfaction in the 2012–2013 rankings.
