INDIANAPOLIS–MDwise was nationally recognized for its quality health care and health outcomes, service and member satisfaction as the 28th best Medicaid health plan in the country based on standards set by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). MDwise ranked 28 out of 136 Medicaid health plans nationally and is the number one Medicaid HMO plan in Indiana.
Celebrating 20 years of operation this year, MDwise is Indiana’s only nonprofit managed health care company, focused exclusively on caring for the state’s most underserved citizens through participation in a number of State and Federal health coverage programs. Its Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana plans, for which it received this recognition, serve more than 280,000 children, pregnant women and low-income adults statewide.
“Achieving such a dramatic increase in our ranking and being recognized as the top Medicaid plan in Indiana is incredibly gratifying. It reinforces MDwise’s commitment to guaranteeing quality health care coverage and unrivaled customer service for our members,” said Charlotte MacBeth, president and CEO of MDwise. “It’s rewarding to know that our members are satisfied with our high quality health care services and are confident in our ability to assist with their needs.”
MDwise has been the number one Medicaid health plan in Indiana for four out of the past five years.
The NCQA Health Insurance Plan ranking is based on satisfaction measures established by the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) which measures quality and outcomes of care, and the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) which assesses member satisfaction with all aspects of their health plan, the Consumer Assessment of treatment rankings, and rigorous NCQA health plan Accreditation Standards scores.
