INDIANAPOLIS – MDwise recently received acknowledgement by the National Health Information Awards. Awards of Merits were received for the following projects:
- Your Doctor First brochure in the consumer decision-making information class
- Everyone Needs Check-Ups postcard in the health promotion/disease and injury prevention information class
MDwise’s Your Doctor First program encourages members to call their doctors first, instead of going straight to the emergency room, for non-life threatening issues. The
accompanying brochure provided a snapshot of the types of health issues that warrant a call to the doctor versus a visit to an urgent care or the ER.
The Everyone Needs Check-Ups postcard educated members on the importance of preventive care for children. It included a list of activities that are likely to occur at a child’s regular doctor visit, such as immunizations, growth measurement and discussion around healthy eating and activity.
“Education of our members is core to MDwise’s mission. By relaying relevant information on the importance of preventative care and the use of doctor visits, we’re taking strides towards helping our members’ live healthier lives”, said Hollie Arruda, director of marketing at MDwise.
The National Health Information Awards program is organized by the Health Information Resource Center, a clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields. The awards program honors high-quality consumer health information.
