INDIANAPOLIS – Backpacks, pencils, crayons – all are essential supplies as Hoosier students gear up for back to school time next fall. For eight years now, the MDwise Tools for Schools program has been donating drawstring backpacks and school supplies at back-to-school events across Indiana.
The program is part of Ms. Bluebelle’s Club for Kids, MDwise’s comprehensive program that promotes the healthy well-being of Hoosier children through special activities and outreach. MDwise outreach consultants across the state work with local organizations to identify the needs of their youth. Then, MDwise provides and coordinates delivery of the school supplies statewide for distribution at various events.
“We recognize that often, proper school supplies aren’t easily accessible to all students, but are pertinent to educational success,” said Jim Parker, president and CEO of MDwise. “This program helps ensure young Hoosier students have the tools they need to thrive and grow in the classroom, and beyond.”
Through its Tools for Schools program, MDwise offers a solution for families that need assistance purchasing much-needed school supplies. Children spend more than 1,200 hours each year in school, so MDwise strives to make classroom experiences as meaningful and constructive as possible by ensuring students have the tools they need to learn.
“Knowing that we are playing a part in ensuring students have every chance to be successful in the classroom is so rewarding to us. We look forward to expanding the list of organizations we partner with in future years,” added Parker.
