MDwise donates over 1,500 winter clothing items for Rueben Engagement Center clients

MDwise recently participated in a “War of the Floors” clothing drive. Employees on both floors at MDwise’s corporate office competed to see which floor could donate the most new or gently used winter clothing items for clients of the Reuben Engagement Center.
The Reuben Engagement Center provides shelter, case management, mental health evaluations, and housing referrals to individuals experiencing homelessness who have substance abuse disorder and/or mental health diagnoses.
The original goal was to collect 100 items of clothing per floor, but generous MDwise employees donated 580 items in the first week.
“I was so proud of our staff for widely exceeding our goal from the beginning,” said Theresa Fox, Vice President, Customer and Provider Services. “and due to this early achievement, we knew we could do even more for Reuben Engagement Center clients, so we increased our goal to 800 items.
Ultimately, MDwise employees donated 1,513 clothing, coats, hats, gloves and more to help keep homeless individuals warm. The second floor was able to donate a total of 911 items, with the third floor donating 602. As a result, the second floor got a free week of wearing jeans at the office, which is something that the employees at MDwise treasure.
