SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) is a nutrition assistance program to help provide food assistance to low and no-income people and families buy nutritious food they need for good health. Local Division of Family Resources (DFR) office can provide applications or individuals may apply online by going to the “Where Do I Apply” webpage and selecting the county they live in. Individuals or families can receive SNAP benefits if they are employed and eligible by income, unemployed, get SSI, disability-related Medicaid or other disability or insurance benefits.
