Female Check-ups

When should you receive check-ups?

MDwise recommends you call your doctor to see what preventive care services you might need. Below is a list of services that are often recommended for women by age group.

*Annual or as required by your disease/history specific condition.

**Every 3 years. Every 5 years in combination with HPV screening for women 30-65.

***For adults with sustained blood pressure - either treated or untreated - greater than 130/80.
^Two times per year.

Always call your doctor first when you or your child needs medical care. Your doctor has someone who can help you 24 hours a day.

icon_plus.pngIt is important to get check-ups from your doctor every year. This is true even if you feel healthy. At regular check-ups your doctor will:
  • Make sure you have up-to-date immunizations (shots). Shots can help keep you from getting sick.
A special message during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Look for early warning signs before a disease or illness gets worse.
  • Check vital statistics so your doctor can compare them if you get sick.
  • Talk to you about staying healthy. This includes tips about quitting smoking, healthy eating, sleeping and being more active.
