WORKwise is a free program for MDwise members. WORKwise connects members to work and education resources. WORKwise Success Guides help members build resumes, prepare for interviews, access educational opportunities and more. Success Guides also provide training, clinics and other tailored opportunities to help prepare members to take the next step toward their personal success.

Success Guides can also help members use HELPlink resources. HELPlink is a free program that connects members to organizations in their community. These organizations can help with child care, housing, utilities, emergency services and more. HELPlink is available to all members.

WORKwise has activities to help you learn new skills by working, learning and serving. To learn more about WORKwise activities, click on the link to each section.
You can learn more about WORKwise by attending a WORKwise event. You can find a full list of MDwise events, including WORKwise events, on the MDwise events calendar.

When you fill out the WORKwise form, a Success Guide in your region will contact you. The Success Guide will help you one-on-one to navigate the program and be successful.

The process of finding and applying for a job can be overwhelming. It can be difficult to know where to start. One important thing to know is that you do not have to do it alone. Through WORKwise, MDwise can assist you with resume help, dress help, job training and more. MDwise can also link you with organizations in your area that can help.

Dress Your Best
Your appearance at a job interview is important. You should dress appropriately for the job you are applying for. Here are some tips:
- Dress professionally.
- Grooming and hygiene count. Make sure to take a bath or shower, brush your teeth, clean your glasses and brush your hair.
- Present yourself with confidence. Be natural and positive.
Business and professional clothing can be expensive. There are organizations around the state that can help you dress your best for interviews for little to no cost. The MDwise HELPlink program can help you find organizations near you that can help.
Resume Help
Your resume tells future employers about your education, work history and skills. It is important that your resume is up-to-date. A successful resume is:
- Organized.
- Complete.
- Clear.
- Accurate.

An interview is an important part of the hiring process. This is when your potential employer meets you face-to-face, or talks with you on the phone.
Learn
Continuing your education can help you get back to work or switch careers. Having a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma can help you get started. Learning specialized skills, earning a career certificate and professional development will set you apart and help you get the job you want.

Serve
Volunteering is a great way to make a difference in the community where you live. It’s also good for you and your health. Volunteering can give you a feeling of pride, satisfaction and accomplishment.
